Spotify is today launching an app for Apple TV (tvOS) as well as Siri voice integration with other Apple devices.
Spotify on Apple TV
Some say that the best speakers in the home are often connected to the TV. That is why some listernes prefer to have a native app on the living room screen.
Besides Apple Music, which is already available on Apple TV, Spotify is today launching its app for the tvOS platform in Apple TV. It took almost four years to get here.
- "Spotify now available on Apple TV: Download it via the tvOS App Store or enable 'automatically install apps' in the tvOS settings to install it," the company said in its release notes.

Spotify via Siri
Besides the new app for Apple TV, Spotify is adding support for Siri. This is possible after Apple in iOS 13 enabled other music streaming service to take advantage of SiriKit.
You can ask Siri to play a song, an album or a specific artist by adding "with Spotify" at the end of your voice command. Without it, music playback will default to Apple Music.
- "Siri available on iOS 13: Control your Spotify listening experience on iPhone, iPad, Carplay, AirPods, and HomePod via AirPlay," the company sid.
Missing native support for HomePod may be related to the fact that HomePod still runs iOS 12.4. HomePod will be updated to iOS 13 later this year.
