Google Stadia launches on November 19 - here are the games

Shortly after the launch of Apple Arcade and the expansion of PlayStation Now, and ahead of the launch of Microsoft xCloud, Google is launching its own game service. Stadia will stream games from the cloud to your device - like Netflix streams movies. However, Stadia is not a "Netflix for games". The $10 per month Pro subscription will give you access only to a few games (Destiny 2 at launch). Other than that you will have to purchase games individually, just like any other game console. Google explains that a Pro subscription will give you discounts on select games and that it will support game streaming in up to 4K HDR 60fps and 5.1 surround. A free Base tier will launch next year.Google confirms that Stadia will launch on November 19 at 9am PST / 5pm BST / 6pm CET. However, initially it will be open only to those customers who pre-ordered the 'Founder's Edition' package that consisted of a Chromecast Ultra, a Stadia controller, and three months of Stadia Pro. This package is no longer available so everyone else will have to wait a bit longer. Google is instead selling a 'Premiere Edition' package and says that it will "begin shipping in the same order that pre-orders were received". Stadia will initially be available in the U.S., Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the U.K. At launch, Stadia will be supported only on Chromecast Ultra, the Chrome browser, select Chrome OS devices and select Google smartphones. Support will be expanded to additional devices later. The company is planning to bring Stadia to Android TV next year with Android 11.
Games on Stadia
Only a handful of games will be available and optimized for Stadia on November 19. Google points out that one advantage of game streaming is instant play. You do not need to download or install games. Input lag on the other hand is a concern. The company is highlighting titles such as Destiny 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, Baldur's Gate 3 and two times Tomb Raider. The list of confirmed games is currently limited to just 38 titles, which is far fewer than any other game platform. Google says that additional games will be added in the coming months and years.
