Lemus launches 'world's most powerful soundbar'

22 Nov 2019 | Rasmus Larsen |

Lemus has unveiled the Home Piano, which it refers to as the world's most powerful soundbar. It is also a sound and media furniture with built-in AirPlay 2 and Chromecast.

Sound and media furniture

Danish company Lemus was founded on the idea that speakers could be integrated into elegant Nordic-style furniture. Its Home line currently comprises two floor-standing "sound and media furniture". Home Piano is the company's first soundbar. - "Not only is it the most powerful 'soundbar' ever made, the Lemus Home Piano breaks with tradition by combining a complete hi-fi sound system and a soundbar with a subwoofer into an elegant piece of media-furniture," the company said. It is an integrated system that includes speakers, amplifier, cables, and wireless audio protocols such as Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Spotify Connect and Bluetooth. These systems allow you to wirelessly transfer music from a smartphone to the speakers. AirPlay and Chromecast also support multi-room by combining speakers from multiple brands. Room correction is supported via a mobile app. A TV can be connected via the HDMI ARC connection. There is room inside for streaming players, consoles are other peripherals.

Powerful sound with deep bass

The system relies on a 300W amplifier driving an 8-inch bass unit plus two fulltone units. It delivers "revolutionary deep bass", according to the company who points out that its frequency response reaches 20Hz. That is why Lemus refers to it as the world's most powerful soundbar. - "Despite its extremely compact and minimalistic design, Lemus Home Piano provides both a unique music and movie experience with a crystal-clear sound and an extremely deep bass. The sound system is created on the same advanced amplifier as the award-winning Lemus Home Classic, giving you the same 300-watt power, usability and world-class features," the company said. Lemus is part of a new wave of Danish speaker companies who rely on modern TVs and wireless audio protocols to create more flexible speaker solutions for the living room. Bang & Olufsen has just launched its irst soundbar Beosound Stage and Canvas will soon launch the first 'Audiostand' for OLED TVs.

Comparing Home Piano to competing speaker solutions and soundbars on the market, Lemus is emphasizing that its solution was designed as furniture with a complete audio solution integrated. Lemus Home Piano will launch on Monday, November 25, through an indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. The listing price is 1350 Euro / 1500 USD but buyers who sign up on lemus-home.com can save 50%. The company says that its first shipments will go out in December, with the second batch scheduled for February 2020.
