LG is the first TV manufacturer to offer the Movies Anywhere app, which brings together close to 8000 movies. The app is available on LG webOS-based TVs from 2017 or later in the US.
Movies Anywhere app
Movies Anywhere launched a few years ago as a digital movie locker that links to Amazon Video, Apple TV (iTunes), Google Play Movies, and Vudu. Microsoft and FandangoNow joined the initiative soon after.
LG is the first TV manufacturer to offer the Movies Anywhere app. The app was already available for Apple TV, Roku, FireTV, Chromecast and mobile devices.
Movies Anywhere supports up to 4K Dolby Vision streaming and LG TVs (2017 or newer) are listed as compatible devices. The service also offers Dolby Atmos audio but it is not clear at this time if Atmos works in the app for LG TVs. Update: Users are reported that Dolby Atmos is supported.
Movies Anywhere brings together close to 8000 movies from Sony Pictures, Universal, Disney, and Warner Bros. Other major Hollywood studios such as Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM have yet to join the initiative.
Only on 2017+ LG TVs
The app is available on LG OLED and LCD TVs from 2017 or later, specifically devices with webOS version 3.5 or later.
Unfortunately, owners of LG TVs from the 2016 generation or earlier are out of luck because LG is not providing webOS updates to existing TVs. The company first introduced webOS with its 2014 TV models.

Movies Anywhere also recently announced 'Screen Pass', a new feature that lets you share movies with friends for a limited time at no additional cost.
