LG launches new mid-range 4K TVs with AirPlay 2, HomeKit
LG has launched a refreshed range of 4K LCD TVs for 2020. The TVs come with the latest version of webOS as well as AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support.LG 2020 LCD TVs
After some delays caused by the coronavirus situation, TV makers have started rolling out their 2020 line-ups. Samsung, Sony, and TCL are now joined by LG with its affordable 4K LCD models in the 2020 UN and Nano ranges. The UN range will replace last year's UM range whereas the Nano range will replace last year's SM range. There are no drastic changes to be found in LG's mid-range TVs this year but there are a couple of upgrades. LG's webOS platform has reached version 5.0, which includes a new search screen as well as 'Sports Alert'. The TVs also support Filmmaker Mode and HGiG Mode. Also read: LG 2020 TV line-upAll of the new UN and Nano ranges come with Apple's TV features, including HomeKit for the connected home and AirPlay 2 that enables a user to push media content wirelessly from an iPhone or iPad onto the TV screen. The Apple TV app offers access to Apple TV+ as well as movie rentals and purchases in up to 4K Dolby Vision HDR. The same Apple features were added to LG's 2019 models via later firmware update. TV makers like Samsung and Sony are also partnering with Apple. The new mid-range 4K TVs from LG are rolling out now in the US and Europe. Prices start at around £400 / €450 / $500 for a 43-inch 4K LCD model.
