Movies Anywhere app comes to (some) Vizio TVs

Movies Anywhere lets you access and synchronize purchased movies across digital accounts and platforms. It is backed by Sony Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Universal, Disney, and Warner Bros as well as major storefronts like Apple TV (iTunes), Amazon Prime, Google Play Movies, and Vudu. It is not "movies anywhere" just yet but it is getting there. After having launched Movies Anywhere on LG webOS TVs, the app has now arrived on 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and newer Vizio TVs running the company's SmartCast platform. If you own an earlier model you are out of luck.- "We are excited to launch on VIZIO SmartCast TVs," said Karin Gilford, GM, Movies Anywhere. "Now VIZIO SmartCast users will be able to bring their digital movie collections together in one easily accessible place, and our users will have yet another way to enjoy the movies they love most." Vizio added that the app supports 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos. At this time, LG and Vizio are the only TV makers to offer Movies Anywhere on their platforms. The app is also available for Apple TV, Roku, FireTV, Chromecast and mobile devices. Movies Anywhere recently announced a new feature in beta called Screen Pass, which allows users to share digital movies with family and friends. The app is free to download.
