NBCUniversal's mew streaming service Peacock will launch on July 15 on popular platforms, including Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, Xbox One, LG webOS, and Vizio SmartCast.
Major partners lined up
New streaming service Peacock will launch officially in the US on July 15 following its preview period. Peacock will have a free tier with limited access to content, a $5/month tier with 15,000 hours of content and ads, and a $10/month tier with full, ad-free access.
At launch, Peacock will be available as an app for Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, and iPhone. It will also be "fully integrated with the Apple TV app". As for Google devices, it will be available on Android TV, mobile Android, and Chromecast.
In addition, the company confirmed Xbox One support as well as apps for Vizio SmartCast and LG webOS TVs, but without commenting specifically on generations of Smart TVs.
It is not uncommon for new apps to launch only on more recent generations of Smart TVs. For example, HBO Max launched on Samsung's Tizen-based TVs from 2016 onwards, despite Tizen also being available on older Samsung TVs. The same is true for Disney+ on LG and Samsung TVs.

NBCUniversal has yet to comment on TV platforms such as Roku, Samsung Tizen, and PS4.
With Peacock, you will have access to new originals from NBCUniversal as well as popular catalog titles from Universal, Focus Features, DreamWorks, and Illumination such as Jurassic Park, E.T., Meet the Parents, Shrek, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, Saturday Night Live, King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond, Two and a Half Men, and Frasier.
The company has not announced details regarding video and audio streaming quality.
NBCUniversal is the latest to enter the streaming wars after Apple TV+, Disney+, HBO Max and Quibi. Peacock will launch in the US on July 15 and later internationally.
