Microsoft discontinues Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital
Microsoft is discontinuing the most powerful game console on the market today, Xbox One X, along with the inexpensive Xbox One S All-Digital as it prepares to launch next-gen console(s).Goodbye, Xbox One X
It is not uncommon to see previous consoles remain available for years after the launch of the new console generation. That will, however, not be the case with Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital. Microsoft confirms that two of its current consoles have been discontinued. The Xbox One S All-Digital has been on the market for a little over a year. Only the Xbox One S with disc drive will remain in production. - "As we ramp into the future with Xbox Series X, we’re taking the natural step of stopping production on Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition," Microsoft told The Verge. "Xbox One S will continue to be manufactured and sold globally."In just a few months from now Microsoft and Sony will launch their next-generation consoles in the form of Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. There are rumors that Microsoft is also planning to launch a more affordable 'Xbox Series S' (known as "Lockhart"), which will be less powerful.
