Peacock app now available on Roku in the US

Roku is no longer the neutral TV platform that it once prided itself as being. That much is clear after both WarnerMedia's HBO Max and NBCUniversal's Peacock launched in the US without app support for Roku. The exact terms are unclear but the negotiations reportedly stalled over Roku's desire to take a significant cut of advertising revenue from its partners. Roku and NBCUniversal have now come to an agreement after the latter threatened to pull all of its apps from the Roku platform - "From world-class originals and treasured hits, to blockbuster films and streaming channels, Peacock offers consumers everything fans love to watch, all in one place – and now, it’s available to Roku users! We’re very excited to continue to chart the future of entertainment with Roku as our partner," said Maggie McLean Suniewick, President of Partnerships at Peacock.Peacock offers over 20,000 hours of premium content from NBCUniversal's networks and studios, including movies from Universal Studios. It will launch internationally later. The Peacock app can be downloaded now from the channel store on Roku TVs and Roku streaming boxes.
