Earlier this week, we reported that the Apple TV app has been spotted on Xbox. The app is now also rumored for PlayStation consoles along with HomeKit support.

Apple TV app on consoles

The Apple TV app has expanded its footprint significantly over the few last year, and is now available on TVs from LG, Samsung, and Vizio as well as Roku and FireTV. It may soon arrive on Xbox and PlayStation consoles too. Last weekend, an Xbox Insider member spotted the app on his Xbox One. 9to5Mac is reporting that "Apple is also working with Sony to bring the Apple TV app to PlayStation consoles". In addition, the source claims that HomeKit support could arrive on PlayStation consoles but not necessarily at the same time.

The Apple TV app provides access to TV+, iTunes & partner channels

The Apple TV app provides access to the Apple TV+ subscription service, the full iTunes movie library (including all 4K HDR titles), and partner channels. HomeKit is Apple's platform for the connected home. On TV devices, it lets you turn on/off the device, adjust volume, and control certain other aspects via the Remote app or Siri.
