Vizio's first OLED TV now available starting at $1200

Vizio's first OLED TVs, complete with HDMI 2.1 for 4K120, are now available in the US after some delays. The 55-inch model costs $1200.

Competition for LG
Consider the competitive environment for a moment. In Europe, you can buy OLED TVs from LG, Sony, Panasonic, Philips, Loewe, Toshiba, Grundig, even Bang & Olufsen. In the US, buyers have far fewer choices.

Vizio is now ready to take on LG and Sony head-to-head with its new 4K OLED TVs that are priced lower than LG's BX and CX models. At launch, Vizio's 55- and 65-inch TVs are priced at $1200 and $1900, down $100 from the suggested retail prices announced earlier this year.

These are still not cheap TVs but unless Vizio has screwed up spectacularly you will get some of the best picture quality on the market today. The TVs are also equipped with HDMI 2.1 ports for 4K120 input, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), eARC, and ALLM. For OLED TVs, such features were previously reserved for LG CX.



The TVs feature SmartCast 3.0, multi-HDR, AirPlay 2, and Chromecast. Full specifications can be found by clicking the model name in the table below. The only things missing are perhaps 48- and 77-inch models.

With the launch of its first OLED TVs, Vizio is expanding its line-up. The company has previously offered only LCD TVs.

Vizio's 55-inch OLED55-H1 and 65-inch OLED-H1 are available now in the US through Best Buy.
