Sony has today announced that the Apple TV app is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Update: App is now available.
Apple TV on PlayStation
In addition to Netflix, Disney+, YouTube and Spotify that were confirmed earlier, PS5 will on day one come with the Apple TV app and Twitch.
Sony said that the Apple TV app will also come to PS4. On both consoles, the app will provide access to Apple TV+ shows like Ted Lasso and The Morning Show. In addition users will have access to rented or purchased movies from the iTunes store, and access partner content via channels.
- “Enjoy Apple TV+, Apple TV channels, new and popular movies, and personalized, curated recommendations on the Apple TV app. That means users can enjoy Apple Originals like Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet, Ted Lasso, and The Morning Show through Apple TV+, subscribe to premium channels, and buy or rent movies and TV shows and access past purchases from Apple. The Apple TV app will also be available on PS4,” said Sony.

Sony did not comment on video streaming quality so at this time we cannot confirm or deny if 4K HDR and/or Dolby Atmos will be supported.
