Bang & Olufsen has launched an upgraded version of Beovision Eclipse, which is now based on the 2020 LG GX OLED TV with HDMI 2.1 features and webOS 5.0.
2nd Gen Beovision Eclipse
In 2017, Bang & Olufsen launched its first OLED TV in the form of Beovision Eclipse. The second generation Eclipse looks unchanged but comes with technical upgrades.
Previously, the Eclipse soundbar was paired with an LG C7 OLED TV on top. The new generation of Eclipse uses LG GX as its screen module; complete with LG's video processing (Alpha 9-3). LG GX is a slim OLED TV without the 'electronics box'. LG GX is also used as the screen in the B&O's Beovision Harmony.

Since Beovision Eclipse is using LG GX as its screen module, it now comes with HDMI 2.1 ports and features for improved performance with next-generation game consoles and media players. HDMI 2.1 in LG GX supports 4K120, eARC, VRR, and other features.

As for the 'Eclipse' part of the package, you are getting a powerful soundbar that doubles as a music system, plus support for B&O's link systems, WiSA, and more. The Eclipse soundbar remains largely unchanged so read our original review for more information.
It comes with the latest version of LG's webOS platform, version 5.0. The webOS platform provides access to streaming apps and more.
At launch, 'Beovision Eclipse 2nd Gen' is available only with the 55-inch version of LG GX, but it will later be available with the 65-inch LG GX too. Beovision Eclipse starts from around $11,000 / €9000.
