Sony will have five PS5 games available from its own studios. A handful of existing and new games from other studios will also be optimized for PS5. Some will support 120fps – but usually not in 4K.
PS5 launch titles
We recently published a list of games that will be optimized for Xbox Series X/S on launch day. Here is a similar list for PlayStation 5 launch titles, along with some information on video/audio features.
Sony's game studios will have five games ready for launch: Astro's Playroom, Demon's Souls, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, Marvel's Spider-man: Miles Morales, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure.
On the official PlayStation 5 game pages you can find more information on resolution, frame rate, audio (Tempest 3D), fast loading, and the level of DualSense support.
For example, Marvel's Spider-man: Miles Morales will support 4K HDR and have an optional 60fps 'performance mode'. It will also support Tempest 3D audio, fast loading, and adaptive triggers plus haptic feedback with the DualSense controller. Demon's Souls will have a 4K mode and an HFR mode, in addition to Tempest 3D and haptic DualSense support.

Games from outside studios that will be available on PS5 launch day include major titles like Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and DiRT 5. Some existing titles will be optimized for PS5 through various video/audio enhancements. Here, it is a little harder to know what to expect because these games are not listed with PS5 enhancements on the official PlayStation site. Developers must confirm details on a title-by-title basis.
Some games will be upgraded with PS5 enhancements free of charge, others must be purchased again (if you want the enhancements, that is – PS4 games are playable on PS5).
A small selection of games will support 120fps frame rate for smoother gameplay, but not necessarily at native 4K resolution and not with ray-tracing enabled. Games with 120fps support include DiRT 5, Call of Duty: Black Op Cold War, and Devil May Cry 5.
PlayStation 5 will start shipping November 12 in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Mexico, and South Korea. It will start shipping in the rest of the world from November 19.
