Deeper support for controllers
Soon you will be able to play Arcade and App Store games on Apple TV 4K with the new Xbox Series X controller. Apple has confirmed that it is working with Microsoft to bring support to its platforms in a future update.
- "Microsoft and Apple are working together to bring compatibility for the Xbox Series X controller to customers in a future update," said Apple.
FlatpanelsHD has confirmed that Xbox Series X controller is already being recognized by Apple TV 4K running the latest tvOS 14.3 beta. It can be paired but does the buttons do not respond yet. However, it is clear that Apple is bringing support not only to iOS but also tvOS.

In addition, MacRumors has spotted code in the iOS 14.3 betas referring to Sony's PlayStation 5 DualSense controller and Amazon's Luna controller. It is certainly not an exotic possibility. PS5's DualSense is not being recognized as a Bluetooth controller on Apple TV 4K just yet, according to FlatpanelsHD's tests.
Support for new game controllers could show up with tvOS 14.3 that is expected to be released later this year or early next year. Or it could take longer. No official timeline has been announced.
