When HBO Max launched in May 2020, we lamented the lack of 4K HDR content. The company's many amazing movies and HBO shows deserve to be presented in higher video and audio quality. That changes on December 25, 2020, as Wonder Woman 1984 premieres on HBO Max and brings along with it support for 4K, HDR10, and Dolby Vision video streaming. The movie will also be available in Dolby Atmos sound.WarnerMedia said that supported devices are "Apple TV 4K, Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K, Amazon Fire TV Cube and 4K Fire TV Edition smart TVs, Chromecast Ultra, AT&T TV and supported Android TV devices". There was no mention of game consoles like Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 4, but he company promised to bring 4K HDR support to additional devices in 2021.
