With tvOS 14.3, you can alternate between watching Tenet and doing fitness on Apple TV. The company calls it "the future of fitness" as it tries to transform tvOS into a multi-purpose TV platform.
Fitness+ on Apple TV
There are other fitness apps available on Apple TV but starting this week users in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, and the US can get access to Apple Fitness+.
The Fitness+ service is available as an app for Apple TV and the company's handheld iOS devices. Powering up the app on Apple TV will let you "incorporate workout metrics from Apple Watch", as seen in the photo.
- "Being more active is one of the most important things we can do for our health, but we know choosing to work out can often be a challenge whether you’re very active or just getting started," said Jay Blahnik, Apple’s senior director of Fitness Technologies. "We’re excited for Apple Fitness+ to bring together the metrics from Apple Watch, great music, and a diverse and inspiring trainer team — in a uniquely simple, easy-to-access way across Apple devices — to encourage our users to get fit and stay healthy."
tvOS 14.3 also introduces a "new, dedicated Apple TV+ tab" in the Apple TV app, the company said.

An encompassing TV platform
The company said that Fitness+ will include "10 of the most popular workout types, including High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Strength, Yoga, Dance, Core, Cycling, Treadmill (for running and walking), Rowing, and Mindful Cooldown".
The launch of Fitness+ is the latest example of Apple trying to transform tvOS into a more encompassing platform. The platform already offers apps for streaming video and local media as well as games. More recently, the company brought its game subscription service, Apple Arcade, to Apple TV.
Fitness+ requires tvOS 14.3, which is rolling out this week. The app will automatically appear after the new software has been installed on Apple TV HD or Apple TV 4K.
Fitness+ is available now as a subscription service for $10 monthly or $80 annually. It is also included in the Apple One Premier subscription bundle. A subscription can be shared among up to six family members.
