Amazon FireTV, Android TV, Apple TV 4K, Roku and Chromecast are some of the devices that support HBO Max' 4K HDR streaming. However, support for Dolby Atmos is more limited.
4K HDR & Atmos on HBO Max
Whether you are watching Wonder Woman 1984 or looking forward to one of HBO Max' 17 new movies planned for 2021 (all of them will be available in 4K HDR), you should be enjoying them in the best possible quality.
- "Wonder Woman 1984 will be the first title on HBO Max available in 4K Ultra HD, HDR 10, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos. The 4K HDR viewing experience will be available on the select 4K devices. Wonder Woman 1984 is also available in HD on all supported devices," said HBO.
4K HDR streaming is supported on the following devices:
Amazon FireTV Stick 4K and FireTV Cube
Android TVs
Apple TV 4K
Google Chromecast Ultra
Chromecast with Google TV
Roku Ultra 4800x, Roku 4k TVs, Roku Premiere, and Roku Streaming Stick+
Xfinity X1 (Xi6) and Flex

Atmos not widely supported yet
Dolby Atmos on the other hand is only supported on some devices such as Apple TV 4K and FireTV. The company noted that "Dolby Atmos is not available with Chromecast with Google TV, Roku Premiere, and Roku Streaming Stick+".
- "HBO Max will include additional movies and series in 4K Ultra HD, HDR 10, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos throughout 2021. There are also plans to add support for additional devices," the company added.
