Disney+ Star to launch with 'Die Hard', 'X-Files', 'Lost', 'Alien', more
Outside the US, Disney+ will launch a new Star section on February 23, 2021. The company confirms that it will include Die Hard, X-Files, Lost, 24, Alien, new originals, and more.Star on Disney+
Besides Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic, subscribers outside the US will, starting February 23, have access to a new Star section on Disney+. The news was announced in December 2020 together with a price increase. Star on Disney+ will include more mature content from Disney TV, FX, and 20th Century Studios. At the same time, Disney+ will introduce parental controls including a PIN code tool.There will be over 1000 movies, series, and TV shows available but the catalog will differ between regions at launch due to licensing deals that have yet to expire. Disney+ UK and Disney+ Spain have revealed some of the first titles on Star. These include:
4K Dolby Vision + Atmos?
Disney+ supports streaming in up to 4K Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Several of the Star titles exist in 4K HDR and/or Dolby Atmos but Disney has not yet said if it will make them available in the highest quality through Disney+ Star.
