Netflix UK is raising prices as the UK is facing another national lockdown. The standard HD plan will increase by £1 per month and the 4K HDR plan by £2 per month.
4K gets more expensive
Netflix raised its prices in the US in October 2020 and the next stop is the UK. The company has not announced plans for a general price increase in Europe.
Netflix UK's basic plan with SD streaming will remain at £6 per month. The standard plan with HD streaming will increase from £9 to £10 per month, and the premium plan with 4K HDR streaming will increase from £12 to £14 per month.

The company said that the price increase reflections its continued investment in local content production.
- "This year we're spending over $1bn [£736m] in the UK on new, locally-made films, series and documentaries, helping to create thousands of jobs and showcasing British storytelling at its best - with everything from The Crown, to Sex Education and Top Boy, plus many, many more," Netflix said in a statement. "Our price change reflects the significant investments we've made in new TV shows and films, as well as improvements to our product."
