Samsung has unveiled an upgraded line-up of soundbars for 2021, spearheaded by the powerful 11.1.4-channel HW-Q950A. The 2021 soundbars will also offer room calibration and AirPlay 2.
Samsung 2021 soundbars
In addition to 2021 "Neo QLED" LCD TVs, Samsung has unveiled new soundbars at CES 2021. The new flagship HW-Q950A is a powerful 11.1.4-channel soundbar solution – up from 9.1.4-channels in last year's flagship.
HW-Q950A has side-firing units in addition to its up-firing units for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. It also comes with wireless rear speakers and a wireless subwoofer. It arrives at the 11.1.4-channel configuration by also including up- and side-firing units in its rear speakers.
Samsung HW-Q800A
New for 2021 is support for 'Q Calibration / Space Fit' room calibration and, in some of the models, Apple AirPlay 2 for wireless TV audio and music. The top soundbars support HDMI eARC and Amazon Alexa. Again in 2021, Samsung is highlighting its 'Q-Symphony' integration that lets soundbar and a compatible Samsung TV play in conjunction.
Samsung's 2021 soundbar line-up will also include a 3.1.2-channel HW-Q800A with an 8-inch subwoofer, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support, a 3.1.2-channel HW-Q70A with a 6.5-inch subwoofer, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X as well a 4.1-channel HW-Q60A with a 6.5-inch subwoofer.

A 2.0.2 wireless surround sound kit with Dolby Atmos will also be made available in 2021 for some of the soundbars.
Availability and pricing details will be announced later but expect the flagship HW-Q950A to be a costly product. Last year's flagship soundbar (HW-Q950T) from Samsung carried a $1800 price tag at launch.
