Paramount+ launches March 4 in the US, more regions later this year

ViacomCBS's new streaming service Paramount+ will launch in the US, Canada and Latin America on March 4, the Nordics on March 25, Australia in mid-2021, and more regions later.

Paramount+ replaces CBS All Access in the US and Canada on March 4. However, the company noted that Canada will not be getting the expanded content library until later this year.

Paramount+ will also start its international expansion on March 4, 2021, starting with Latin America, the Nordics later that month, and Australia in mid-2021.

- "ViacomCBS Inc. announced today that its highly anticipated streaming service, Paramount+, will launch in the U.S. on Thursday, March 4, 2021," the company said. "ViacomCBS will also bring Paramount+ to international markets with initial debuts in Latin America on March 4, 2021; the Nordics on March 25, 2021; and Australia in mid-2021. The CBS All Access service in Canada will be rebranded to Paramount+ on March 4, 2021, and an expanded offering will be available later in the year."

Paramount+ will compete globally with the likes of Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Peacock. It will offer movies form Paramount Pictures as well as TV shows from Showtime, CBS, BET, MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, and Smithsonian. More information can be found here.

The company said that it will provide "a comprehensive overview of the company’s streaming strategy, including Paramount+, Pluto TV, and Showtime" on February 24, 2021.
