Some of the 2021 TCL models, that were unveiled in januar, are now launching in Europe. The new LCD TVs feature 4K resolution, Android, miniLED backlight and HDMI 2.1.
TCL's new 8- and 7-series TVs
TCL is launching its C725, C728 and C825 models that will compete with mid-range LCD TVs from the likes of LG, Samsung, and Sony. This year, TCL's 7- and 8-series models gain some of the advanced technologies from last year's high-end models.
TCL C825 will be available in 55 and 65 inches with a miniLED backlight behind the LCD panel. The company did not specify the number of dimming zones – miniLED in itself does not improve picture quality.

TCL C825 will feature HDMI 2.1 ports with support for 4K120 and VRR for use with next-generation game consoles. However, be aware that VRR mode more or less deactivates LED zone dimming due to latency concerns. The same applies to some degree when engaging Game mode without VRR.
TCL's C728 (QLED850 in some regions) and C725 are more affordable LCD TV ranges without LED zone dimming. C728 features HDMI 2.1 ports for 4K120 and VRR. C725 is also advertised with HDMI 2.1 but it supports only ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode).

Google TV not ready yet
In Europe, TCL is partnering with Google. In January, the company announced that Google TV, the new homescreen on top of Android TV, is coming to its TVs in 2021.
At yesterday's event, TCL provided an update saying that it expects to start rolling out Google TV to its 2021 models via a software update sometime between July and October this year.

Google TV will roll out later
Later this year, TCL Europe will launch both lower- and higher-end models including 8K LCD TVs, although the company admitted at yesterday's event that 8K is still "niche". It does not expect that to change in 2021. The new models coming later this year are already included in the TV database.
TCL said that C725 and C728 will start shipping in Europe from late April or May. C825 will be ready in June.
