Google TV lacks multi-user functionality but that could change in the near future. References to a multi-user system have been discovered in the latest software by 9to5Google.
Multi-user Google TV
The new Google TV homescreen, which will gradually replace Android TV, supports multiple Google accounts but it lacks a proper multi-user system with personalized options.
The latest update to the Google TV Home app (version 1.0.370) includes references to just that. Hidden text found in the update package, by 9to5Google, refers to new account set-up with a "personalized Google TV experience" on individual homescreens.
- "Add another account to this device to have their own personalized Google TV experience. You can manage existing accounts in Settings and then Accounts & Sign in," the text said.
This would most likely also include personalized content recommendations and ads.

Today, all Google TV users see the same homescreen same recommendations
Kids profile improvements
Google TV recently added the option to set-up a Kids profile, which shows only content that is appropriate for kids.
It would appear that parents will soon get new options in Google TV to hide specific content on a Kids profile, as part of the upcoming multi-user system. References to such functionality were also discovered.
Multi-user support is already available on competing TV platforms such as Apple's tvOS where it switches between user profiles in supported apps but keeps the homescreen static.
