The HBO Max app is now supported on LG webOS Smart TVs from 2018 or later. HBO Max has also made available free preview episodes of some of its most popular series.
HBO Max on LG TVs
HBO Max has finally arrived on LG OLED and LCD TVs – more than a year after the official launch. The bad news is that support is limited to LG TVs with webOS 4.0 or later, meaning 2018 or later generations of LG TVs.
- "LG Electronics USA and WarnerMedia announced today that the HBO Max app is now available on LG Smart TVs in the U.S., including its line-up of award-winning LG OLED TVs. The arrival of HBO Max on LG Smart TVs makes it easier than ever for subscribers to access the popular streaming platform’s full portfolio of premium content in one integrated experience and comes on the heels of the launch of HBO Max on LG Smart TVs across select territories in Latin America and the Caribbean in June," said LG and WarnerMedia.
The launch of HBO Max on LG Smart TVs comes just in time for the release of The Suicide Squad, which will be available in 4K, HDR10, and Dolby Vision on HBO Max for 31 days starting August 5. HBO Max added support for 4K, HDR and Dolby Atmos in December 2020.

Free episodes in the app
HBO Max also launched free preview episodes of some of its most popular series such as Game of Thrones, The Flight Attendant, The Nevers, Lovecraft Country, and other titles.
Preview episodes were previously available only through this website but with the latest initiatives users can also access them from within the HBO Max app on supported TV and mobile platforms.
HBO Max is available in the US and select other regions for $15/month ad-free or $10/month with ads. The streaming service will expand to Europe and other regions in late 2021 and 2022.
