Microsoft is bringing cloud gaming to its Xbox Series S/X and Xbox One consoles to let gamers jump into new games instantly. You will also be able to play Series X games on an Xbox One console.
Cloud gaming on consoles
Xbox Cloud Gaming (or xCloud) is available on PC and mobile devices through web browsers. Later this year, it will also be supported on current and last-gen Xbox consoles.
- "We’re bringing cloud gaming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One this holiday, enabling Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to play 100+ games right from the cloud and discover new games with the click of a button," said Jake Rosenberg, Senior Program Manager, Xbox.
You will still be able to download games from Xbox Game Pass onto your console for the best possible gaming experience (4K, HDR, 120fps, Atmos, lowest lag etc). Xbox cloud gaming is limited to 1080p at 60fps and SDR.

Microsoft said that it is a way for gamers to "play some of their favorite games as quickly as possible". The company also emphasized that the new system will make some Series X/S-exclusive games available on Xbox One consoles through streaming. This feature will launch "in the future".
- "Play Gen 9-only Xbox games like 'Microsoft Flight Simulator' and 'The Medium' on your Xbox One via the cloud – coming in the future," said Microsoft.
