Besides its own TV hardware, Amazon is partnering with various OEM manufacturers and TV makers to embed its Fire TV platform that provides access to streaming services like Amazon, Disney+, HBO, and Netflix. These are mid-range TVs with 4K resolution and 120Hz LCD panels that will compete with the likes of LG, Samsung, TCL and Vizio in the US.

The LCD TVs are equipped with local dimming capabilities for improved contrast and backlight control. Toshiba told CNET that the M-Series have "up to 48" dimming zones – presumably in the largest screen size. They support HDR10, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos decoding. There are four HDMI 2.0 ports with support for a single backwards compatible HDMI 2.1 feature; ALLM for auto-switching into Game Mode with a compatible game console. The TVs are powered by Amazon's Fire TV platform so they also support Alexa voice commands. There is hands-free Alexa functionality through a built-in microphone. You can disable the microphone, if you prefer not to use it. In addition, they support AirPlay 2. The Toshiba M-Series is available in three sizes 55 inches (55M550KU) for $800, 65 inches (65M550KU) for $1,000 and 75 inches (75M550KU) for $1,200, but retail prices have already been slashed $150. The TVs are available now from Best Buy. - Source: Amazon and Toshiba via CNET
