Roku's TV Ready program adds new partners, expands internationally

Polk Audio and Westinghouse are joining the Roku TV Ready program in 2022, and Roku TV Ready products will also soon be available in some international regions.

Roku TV Ready products such as soundbars let you set-up and control sound settings directly from the TV's interface with the TV remote. Some products connect over HDMI but more recently Roku TV Ready added support for wireless TV speakers. The certification program was first announced at CES 2020. In 2022, Polk Audio and Westinghouse will join the program and later release products. - "Polk Audio and Westinghouse are joining our Roku TV Ready Program in early 2022, adding to an existing roster of Roku TV Ready partners including Bose, Element, Hisense, JVC, Pheanoo, Philips, TCL North America and Sound United, parent company to Denon, Definitive Technology and Polk Audio," Roku announced at CES 2022.

In the connected TV space, Roku is competing with the likes of Amazon, Apple, Google and various TV makers. Amazon also lets you connect its Echo speakers wirelessly to select Fire TVs while Apple lets you connect HomePod wirelessly to Apple TV 4K. Roku has also started expanding the Roku TV Ready program internationally paving the way for these products to launch in the UK, Canada and Mexico. The program will expand to additional countries in 2022, although the company did not say which ones. - "Additionally, the program was expanded internationally with partners launching in the United Kingdom, Canada and Mexico – with more expected in 2022." Expect more Roku news at CES 2022 next week.
