2022 will be the year NFTs come to TVs. LG and Samsung are planning to integrate NFT-based digital art into their Smart TVs. See Samsung's presentation from CES 2022.
NFTs in Smart TVs
Samsung will bring an NFT digital artwork hub to select 2022 models including The Frame and "Neo QLED" LCD TVs as well as the MicroLED TVs. It is an app that will be available as part of Samsung's redesigned Tizen home screen.
- "With demand for NFTs on the rise, the need for a solution to today’s fragmented viewing and purchasing landscape has never been greater," Samsung announced at CES. "In 2022, Samsung is introducing the world’s first TV screen-based NFT explorer and marketplace aggregator, a groundbreaking platform that lets you browse, purchase, and display your favorite art—all in one place."
Samsung has partnered with Nifty Gateway which currently has over 6000 NFT artworks from over 400 artists.

LG is also planning to bring NFT-based digital artwork to its OLED TVs but has yet to provide details. The news was first reported by Business Korea and LG Korea confirmed the plans to FlatpanelsHD.
- "We have collaborated with various artists for years to this end and OLED is the very technology optimized for art," said LG Electronics.
