Disney+ will expand is offerings by introducing a cheaper, ad-supported subscription plan in the US in late 2022 and internationally in 2023.

Disney+ emphasized that the new ad-supported tier will be in addition to its current subscription tier without ads. It is up to subscribers to decide how they want to watch Disney+ in the future.
- "Expanding access to Disney+ to a broader audience at a lower price point is a win for everyone—consumers, advertisers, and our storytellers," said Kareem Daniel, Chairman, Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution. "More consumers will be able to access our amazing content. Advertisers will be able to reach a wider audience, and our storytellers will be able to share their incredible work with more fans and families."
Competing streaming services like HBO Max, Paramount+ and Peacock already offer a cheaper ad-supported subscription tier. If Disney+ takes a similar approach you should also expect 4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos to be exclusive to the premium plan without ads.
Disney+ is targeting a total of 230-260 million subscribers by 2024, up from roughly 130 million today. Netflix is the market leader in video streaming with 222 million subscribers.
The cheaper, ad-supported Disney+ plan will be introduced beginning in the US in late 2022, with plans to expand internationally in 2023.
