Sonos Ray will be available globally starting in June. It joins the existing line-up as Sonos' most affordable soundbar.
Sonos will continue to offer the premium Arc soundbar and the compact, high-definition Beam (Gen 2). Sonos Ray will be an even more affordable option.

The three soundbars from Sonos: Arc, Beam and Ray
It is still compatible with other Sonos speakers, allowing you to connect rear speakers and a subwoofer wirelessly.
- "Homes have become movie theaters, fitness studios, gaming hubs and so much more, all supported by a streaming era that is no longer exclusive to just TV, music and film," said Patrick Spence, CEO of Sonos. "Ray makes it easier than ever to enhance those listening experiences, thanks to its smaller size, yet impressive sound."

Sonos Ray
The first pictures and details on Sonos Ray leaked last month. However, Sonos makes no mention of the rumored option to position Ray vertically as Dolby Atmos rear speakers. There are already references to the vertical orientation in the Sonos app, so it may be added later.
Sonos Ray connects to the TV via optical but you can still control it with your existing TV remote or the Sonos app. It also supports Apple AirPlay 2 for music.
Despite its compact size, Sonos claims that it Ray can deliver room-filling sound.
- "Custom-designed waveguides project sound from wall to wall, and advanced processing accurately positions elements throughout your room so you feel like you’re at the center of the story," the company said. "A new bass reflex system with a proprietary design delivers thrilling lows with perfectly weighted bass, while custom acoustics precisely harmonize mid and high-range frequencies."
Sonos Ray is available globally on June 7, 2022 for $279 / £279 / €299. It will be available in black and white.
