New 5.1.2ch Dolby Atmos soundbar by Porsche Design

The soundbar, which supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, has two upfiring speakers and a fabric and aluminum enclosure.

If you seek a soundbar to match you car, Porsche Design's new 5.1.2-channel PDB90 may be for you. The soundbar's 999 Euro price tag is not even outlandish compared to other high-end soundbars from major electronics brands such as LG, Samsung and Sony.

It supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X – the two object-based audio formats – for more immersive sound in addition to legacy Dolby and DTS audio formats.

It can be connected to a TV via HDMI eARC. It also features HDMI In, Bluetooth, USB and optical connection.

The two up-firing speakes are rotated 20 degrees towards the viewer for improved overhead sound effects with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks. There are four presets available: Movie, music, speech and stadium.

- "The front speakers are equipped with mid-treble and tweeter speakers, so-called MTMT components. This allows the system to be configured as MTM mode for high fidelity sound or TMM mode, which guarantees powerful sound and a wider sound stage for movies," said Porsche Design.

The soundbar has a simple squared design with a fabric cover and polished aluminum. It can be used freestanding or mounted on the wall.

Porsche Design's new soundbar is available now for 999 Euro from the company's own stores and web shop as well as partner stores.
