Hisense launches its first Fire TV

25 May 2022 | Rasmus Larsen |

Amazon and Hisense have partnered to launch Hisense's first Fire TV in the US. It is available in 50 inches and later 58 inches starting at $530 with full array local dimming.

Hisense already offers Android TVs, Google TV, Roku TVs and TVs running its own Vidaa platform. The Chinese brand is now adding TVs built on Amazon's Fire TV operating system to the mix.

- "Hisense and Fire TV share the same goal of combining the best in hardware and software to provide high-quality, innovative, and affordable smart TV experiences," said Daniel Rausch, VP of Amazon Entertainment Devices and Services. "As more brands turn to Fire TV, we are committed to delivering a smart TV package that is easy to adopt, efficient to develop with, and delights customers."

Fire TV offers access to streaming apps such as Amazon, Disney, HBO Max, Netflix and YouTube. Fire TVs also support Alexa voice control and Hisense's new TVs come with a microphone-enabled remote control that lets users change channels, launch apps, search for titles, play music, and control compatible smart home devices with voice commands or buttons. U6HF will be available in 50 and 58 inches as midrange TVs with 4K resolution, 60Hz LCD panel, FALD (32 zones in 50"), 600 nits peak brightness, and support for HDR (HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision). The TVs support VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) up to 60Hz over HDMI 2.0 and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) for gaming. Fire TVs are also available as Amazon-branded TVs and from brands such as Insignia and Toshiba. In addition, Amazon sells inexpensive media players and dongles built on the Fire TV platform. The 50-inch Hisense U6HF is available for pre-order for $530 on Amazon.com and will start shipping next week. The larger 58-inch will be available in early fall for $600.
