LG launches 2022 soundbars including $1800 9.1.5ch flagship S95QR
Announced this spring, LG's upgraded 2022 soundbars are now available in the US, Germany, the UK and elsewhere. The flagship S95QR has five up-firing units. LG's soundbar line-up for 2022 is spearheaded by the 9.1.5ch S95QR which is the first soundbar with an up-firing center channel. It comes bundled with two rear speakers with six channels (four front/side, two up-firing) and a subwoofer. S95QR is LG's most advanced soundbar to date and it will up against flagship soundbars such as Samsung's HW-Q990B, Sony's HT-A7000 (review), and the Sonos Arc (review). In addition, LG has launched a range of more affordable options. The company's 2022 soundbars support both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. New for 2022 is IMAX Enhanced certification on the three top models. Passthrough for VRR and ALLM is supported, but not 4K120. More features and specifications can be found in the table. LG said that S95QR has a suggested retail price of $1800, while S90QY costs $1200, S80QY $900, S75Q $600 and S65Q $400.
