Sonos is reportedly planning to launch three new speakers referred to as 'Optimo' alongside a major update to its software platform. 'Optimo 2' will support Dolby Atmos.
Besides the rumored Sub Mini which is expected to launch later this year, Sonos is working on 'Optimo 1', 'Optimo 1 SL', and 'Optimo 2'. The latter will be positioned as the company's best-sounding speaker to date, according to a report by The Verge.
- "With its array of drivers (including one that appears to be upward-firing), Optimo 2 will be a showcase for Dolby Atmos audio. But it’s just one piece of the puzzle. The Verge can report that Optimo 2 is the lead product in a trio of in-the-works devices, which will also include an Optimo 1 and Optimo 1 SL," reported The Verge. "The three products are intertwined with a major forthcoming update to Sonos’ software platform that will unlock new functionality."

With Dolby Atmos
The Optimo 2 "includes an arsenal of drivers" and is believed to be a successor to Sonos 5. It will apparently feature both WiFi and Bluetooth as well as built-in microphones and automatic room sound tuning.
The report did not reveal additional details but Dolby Atmos can work with both music and TV surround sound – for example as rear speakers. Sonos is currently preparing its software platform to support height adjustment for rear speakers.

It is not clear if 'Optimo' is a codename or the final name for the new range of speakers and there are no details on timing or pricing just yet.
