There were lots of new soundbars at IFA 2022 and JBL announced no less than four models including the flagship Bar 1000 with removable rear speakers.
JBL has unveiled its new soundbar line-up for 2022: Bar 300, Bar 500, Bar 800 and Bar 1000, with prices ranging from 400 to 1150 Euro. They all boast Dolby Atmos compatibility but you need to move up to the Bar 800 or Bar 1000 to get up-firing units for an added height perspective with Dolby Atmos movies and games. They also support DTS:X.
In addition, the Bar 800 and Bar 1000 soundbars come with detachable rear speakers that charge when docked to the soundbar. Whenever you want to watch a movie or play a game in surround sound or Dolby Atmos, you simple move them to the desired positions behind you.

Lots of new soundbars and TV audio solutions were announced at IFA 2022. Bang & Olufsen introduced the Beosound Theatre, Sennheiser launched Ambeo Plus and TCL entered the premium soundbar segment.
JBL believes that the Bar 1000 is a good choice for buyers looking for a discreet TV soundbar that can transform into a more expansive setup for movie watching.
- "The entire new JBL Bar range is truly taking the bar to the next level, however it is the JBL Bar 1000 that stands out for me. To pack this many features, drivers and the resulting jaw-dropping acoustic performance into one slim, easy-to-use soundbar is an incredible feature and I am proud of our team for delivering such a product," said Dave Rogers, President, Harman Lifestyle Division.
The four new soundbars from JBL will launch between September and October. We refer to the table for specifications and pricing.
