Microsoft will roll out another new Xbox homescreen in 2023 and has provided a preview that reveals its intentions to put "recommended", trending and sponsored content front and center.
- "Team Xbox is always looking for ways to improve your gaming experience, getting gamers what they want, games. We’re focused on making it faster and easier to play the games you love and find your next favorite game," said Ivy Krislov, Senior Product Manager Lead, Xbox Experiences. "We know the Xbox homepage is where our gamers spend a lot of their time, and it’s a space that’s very personal."
Microsoft just previewed this new "more personalized home screen experience" and will test it with select beta testers on the 'alpha skip-ahead' ring in the coming months.

As you may have realized by now, "personalized" is industry lingo for ads. The new homescreen will put "recommendations" (meaning ads) front and center, highlight trending games from Xbox Game Pass, and even have a sponsored tile near the top.
Further down, you will see "curated categories" and more personalized "recommendations".
The good news is you still have time to make your voice heard.
- "With your input, we’re looking forward to launching this new, better Home experience in 2023. Please share your feedback and be patient as we add, remove, and change features to optimize the experience," said Ivy Krislov.
On the other hand the new user interface will provide easier access to settings and My Games & Apps, with dedicated tiles on the homescreen. A new 'Jump back in' row lets you quickly resume recently played games.
