Sonos has added a new compact subwoofer to its line-up of wireless speakers. It is designed to complement the Beam and Ray soundbars but works with all stationary Sonos speakers.
Sonos' new Sub Mini, which will cost $429 / €499 is a cheaper and less bulky alternative to the existing Sonos Sub, which costs $749 / €849. It is designed for small and medium-sized rooms to complement other compact Sonos speakers.
- "Experience powerful lows that surpass your highest expectations. Pair Sub Mini with Beam, Ray, One, One SL or SYMFONISK speakers to enhance scenes and songs with surprisingly rich, clear, and balanced low end," the company said.

The subwoofer goes down to 25Hz with its dual 6-inch woofers that face inward for a force-canceling effect. A total of two subwoofers can be connected to the Sonos S2 platform.
Sub Mini is the latest addition to Sonos' ecosystem that remains the most comprehensive line-up of wireless speakers despite Amazon, Apple, Google and other juggernauts' growing interest in the field of wireless audio.
Sub Mini will be available starting October 6 for $429 / £429 / €499 in white and black.
