Bose has launched a new compact soundbar for movies, TV and music with features such as Dolby Atmos, Chromecast, and AirPlay 2. It will be available later this month..
Like Sonos Beam, Bose's new compact Smart Soundbar 600 can couple with Bose subwoofers and rear speakers for improved sound. It also supports multi-room audio.
The soundbar can be connected to a TV via HDMI eARC or optical cable but only the former will let it pull Dolby Atmos from the TV. The soundbar is equipped with a center tweeter plus two side-firing units and two up-firing units.
- "When you're not watching Dolby Atmos-enabled content, you can still experience excellent, immersive audio. With support from those same five transducers, TrueSpace intelligently analyzes signals other than Dolby Atmos — like stereo or 5.1 — remixing them to produce sound just as effectively with similar spaciousness," said Bose.

In addition, the soundbar supports Bluetooth, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, and Apple AirPlay 2 for music playback. It can be controlled via the TV remote or voice commands.
The 600 soundbar joins the 300 and 900 models in Bose's line-up. The 900 model was launched in 2021 as Bose's first Dolby Atmos soundbar.
