For the first time, Apple TV+ in the US includes licensed content in addition to original content. It is a small selection pegged to new original releases.
Apple TV+ launched in 2019 without a library of content but instead with a small selection of original content that has grown over time. This is in contrast to, for example, Netflix which licenses content from other studios in addition to its original content.
Apple is now experimenting with adding licensed content in the US. For the past three major releases (Spirited, Mythic Quest, and Causeway), Apple TV+ has added a selection of related titles, as seen below.

The company said that licensed titles pegged to an original release will be available for a limited time.
- "As a limited-time subscriber bonus, watch these companion films to the newest Apple Originals," said Apple.
Licensed titles are available in HD or 4K Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, if available.
