Another one. Not only LG Electronics, but also Asus will launch a 27-inch OLED gaming monitor with 1440p resolution and 240Hz refresh rate.

In a brief update, Asus has teased its upcoming ROG Swift PG27AQDM monitor designed for gaming. It is most likely based on the same WOLED panel as LG's 27GR95QE that launches later this month.

Asus says that its upcoming 27-inch OLED monitor has 240Hz refresh rate, a flat panel, 2560x1440 resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio, and RGB gaming lights on the back.

Endgame? Not really, but most likely a very good gaming monitor. Photo: Asus

We do not have additional details beyond that but if it matches LG's version it will also support VRR and HDR10. 2023 is shaping up to be a big year for OLED monitors. LG will also soon launch a 45-inch 240Hz OLED monitor and we are getting the first 240Hz QD-OLED monitors, too. A report earlier this year claimed that LG Display will soon start production of a 32-inch OLED panel in addition to the 27-inch panel. A separate report claimed that Samsung Display is considering a 27-inch QD-OLED panel, although we do not expect to see that one in 2023. Asus will officially unveil the 27-inch PG27AQDM OLED monitor at CES 2023 so stay tuned to FlatpanelsHD for more information soon.
