Dough, formerly Eve, has announced an alternative to LG and Asus' 27-inch matte OLED gaming monitors in the form of Spectrum ES07E2D with a glossy panel.
This is the third 27-inch 240Hz OLED gaming monitor announced but the first with a glossy coating. The panel has same specifications as LG and Asus' monitors meaning 1440p resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 240Hz refresh rate.
- "Other manufacturers lock their OLED panels behind matte polarizers to reduce reflections. But our community of enthusiasts from around the world has spoken: reducing reflections is not worth the drop in black levels, sharp detail, and vibrant colors. That's why we use a unique glossy polarizer, unleashing the full potential of our OLED panel," the company said.

2-year burn-in warranty
Dough's monitor supports VRR (G-Sync Compatible, FreeSync Premium Pro) over HDMI 2.1a and DisplayPort. It also has a USB Type-C port with 100W power delivery. It comes with a 3-year limited warranty and a 2-year burn-in warranty.
Dough was formerly named Eve and does not have the best track record.
The Dough Spectrum ES07E2D can be pre-ordered for $649 / €749 without a stand ($99 / €99) but "as we near retail launch, the price will go up to reflect the extra costs charged by retailers", it said. The retail price will be $1099 / €1199.
Deliveries will not start until July 2023 so it is certainly possible that it will be overtaken by other glossy OLED gaming monitors. Our advice is to wait for CES 2023 to begin before making a decision.
