Amazon is expanding its line-up of in-house TV models to include three new, smaller sizes of the "Omni QLED" series as well as new entry-level 2-series LCD TVs starting at $200.
Amazon's range of 4K LCD TVs with full array local dimming was launched in September 2022in 65 and 75 inches. The company is now expanding the range to include 43, 50 and 55 inch sizes.
However, there are some caveats. The 43-inch version does not feature zone dimming. Amazon says that the other sizes have "up to 96 zones, plus support for both Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive", but it did not specify how many zones the new 50 and 55-inch versions have, and it is unlikely to be enough for great HDR picture quality.
The new smaller Omni models are available now for pre-order starting at $450 from Amazon.com. They will start shipping on May 11 and be available from Best Buy on the same day.

Fire TV Ambient Experience
The se"Omni QLED" LCD TVs are some of the first Amazon-branded models and come with Fire OS and other smart features built in.
-"When not streaming, the Omni QLED Series uses built-in presence sensors to detect when a person enters the room to intelligently switch to the Ambient Experience, which uses the power of Alexa to display helpful information," said Amazon.
The Ambient Experience features over 1700 free pieces of artwork. It can also display your schedule with Calendars and Reminders, leave Sticky Notes for family members, control smart devices like a thermostat or Ring doorbell, and play music from services such as Amazon Music and Spotify.
Coming later this year, Ambient Experience will be expanded to include dynamic art, which is "a new art concept that adapts to the current environment" based on factors such as "the time of day, temperature, weather, and other factors", the company explained.

Entry-level Fire TV 2-series
Amazon's new Fire TV 2-series will be available in 32 and 40 inches with HD or Full HD resolution for smaller rooms.
They also run Fire OS with access to Prime Video, Netflix, Apple TV, Paramount+, and other services. They claim support for HDR10 and HLG but do not expect actual HDR picture quality from these entry-level LCD TVs.
Prices start at $200 and they are available now for immediate shipping.
