LG is expanding its cloud gaming portfolio by launching the Boosteroid app and by adding 4K support for Nvidia's GeForce Now game service. Amazon Luna will arrive later in 2023.
Google Stadia is gone, but newer LG webOS-based OLED and LCD TVs still offer GeForce Now (2020-2023 models), Utomik and Blacknut apps. These apps let you stream games over the internet with a connected controller – no console required.
A new addition is Boosteroid which offers PC games including some AAA titles. It currently has 18 servers around the world. The Boosteroid app is available now on 2021 to 2023 LG models running webOS 6.0 or later in Europe, North America and parts of Latin America. Boosteroid costs around €10 / $11 per month. It supports 1080p 60fps.
GeForce Now in 4K
LG and Nvidia are also upgrading GeForce Now to support 4K at 60fps, first on 2023 models and later 2022 models (no details on the timing). GeForce Now has been supported in 4K on Samsung TVs since late 2022 and on Nvidia Shield since 2021.
- "LG 2023 TV users can now enjoy gaming on GeForce NOW at 4K 60fps with no additional downloads, installation or hardware required. GeForce Now is also currently available in Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) at 60fps on LG TVs (2020-2022 models) running webOS 5.0 and higher, while support for 4K gaming on GeForce Now will be coming to select 2022 TV models at a later date," announced LG.
Compatible 2023 LG models are listed in the table below. 4K on GeForce Now requires an Ultimate subscription ($20/month).

Luna too, but no word on Xbox
LG reiterated that Amazon's cloud gaming service, Amazon Luna, will also launch on select OLED and LCD TV models later this year.
There is still no word on plans for Microsoft's Xbox cloud gaming app, which is currently TV-exclusive to Samsung TVs. Xbox PC games will later come to Boosteroid.
