Amazon's AI-based Dialogue Boost feature is available globally on Prime Video but only on a handful of titles. It will expand to additional titles later this year.

Dialogue Boost can be set to Low, Medium or High during playback of a movie or TV series on Prime Video. Just pause the video and change the audio track.

It is intended for anyone who find it hard to heard what the actors on-screen are saying.

It currently works only with select Amazon Originals such as Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Harlem as well as movies such as The Big Sick, Beautiful Boy, and Being the Ricardos. It does not work with a show like The Rings of Power, but Amazon says that it "will become available on additional titles this year".

Not just center channel boosting
The company explained that it is an AI-based approach that identifies and enhances the spoken dialogue depending of the scene, instead of just boosting the center channel.

It is done server-side and stored as additional audio tracks, which is why it is supported on all Prime Video compatible devices/apps including Smart TVs, Apple TV, Google TV, and handheld devices.

In FlatpanelsHD's testing 'Dialogue Boost' sometimes lowers background noise in a scene to make voices easier to hear.
