Twitter is coming to a Smart TV near you, according to owner Elon Musk, as part of a new plan to focus more on video content.
Vertical video currently accounts for more than 10% of time spent on Twitter. At an investor presentation on Thursday last week, Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino and Elon Musk outlined a plan increase focus on video and creator partnerships, according to Reuters.
Part of that plan apparently involves an app for TV platforms including Smart TVs.
"It's coming", Musk said with reference to the app but without providing a timeline for the launch.
Vertical video on 16:9 TVs
No other details are known publicly at this time but even if Twitter decides to go ahead with vertical video on 16:9 aspect ratio TV screens, it would not be unprecedented.
