The so-called Nanoleaf 4D uses a combination of RGB lightstrips and a screen-facing camera to imitate the effect of Ambilight found in Philips TVs. It works with all TV brands.
Philips is the only brand to have built-in mood lighting, Ambilight, in its TVs, but there are external solutions that can be added to other brands of TVs. Samsung recently launched one in partnership with Philips Hue and here is another one from Nanoleaf.

- "Nanoleaf 4D brings your entertainment experience beyond the screen. The 4D TV Smarter Kit comes with a Screen Mirror Camera and Matter-compatible Smart Addressable Lightstrip using new Sync+ technology to transform your favorite movies and games into a truly immersive journey of the senses," the company said.
In other words you snap on the RGB light strips to the back of your TV while the camera required to sync the colors between the on-screen action and the light strips must be placed on top or bottom of the TV's frame or a rack.
Living room effect, Matter
Nanoleaf said that the mood lighting effects can be extended to the living room via other Nanoleaf lamps or light bulbs through a system called Sync+.
A software update later this year will make Nanoleaf 4D compatible with the new Matter smart home connection standard.
They can also all play in sync to music or "scenes", for example an Aurora Borealis imitation.
Nanoleaf 4D is available now for pre-order in two length options suitable for TV size 55-65" and 65-85" at $100 and $120 dollars, respectively. They will start shipping in mid-July.
