The flagship Q990C is an 11.1.4-channel soundbar system designed for Dolby Atmos but Samsung also offers smaller and more affordable models.
Like the TV models, Samsung has started refreshing its soundbar hardware yearly. The 2023 'C' soundbar models replace last year's 'B' models.
In 2023, the company offers the Q-series made for Dolby Atmos and the C-series for budget-minded buyers.
11.1.4ch flagship
The flagship Q990C is a 11.1.4-channel sound system with two wireless rear speakers and a wireless subwoofer. It has built-in up-firing and side-firing units in both the soundbar and rear speakers.
Q990C has the same number of audio channels as last year's Q990B but Samsung says that it has upgraded the systems that adapt sound to your living room. It has also gained compatibility with the SmartThings home control protocol.

More affordable soundbars
In addition to Q990C, Samsung has launched Q930C, Q900C, Q800C, Q700C, Q600C and Q60C. See the table below for more information and dealers/prices.
The Q series soundbars all support Dolby Atmos and some of them support wireless connection to a compatible Samsung TV including wireless Dolby Atmos transmission. The 'Q-Symphony' feature lets you use the soundbar and TV speakers in concert with a compatible Samsung TV.
Samsung's C450 and C400 are budget soundbars with stereo units. A new feature here is 'Night Mode' that reduces bass and loud sounds at night.
Last year's slim S-series soundbars, S800B and S801B, have carried over into 2023.
Samsung's 2023 soundbars are available now in North America, Europe and elsewhere.
