Samsung is expanding its series of outdoor TVs, known as The Terrace, with a 85-inch version that is bright enough for direct sunlight, the company claims.
Samsung launched The Terrace in 2020, a series of outdoor TVs with 4K resolution and up to 2000 nits brightness.
They have until now been available in sizes up to 75 inches.
85 inches 'Full Sun'
Samsung's 85-inch version is a so-called 'Full Sun' variant "that can stay bright even on the sunniest days", although Samsung did not state how bright the LCD TV with an LED backlight gets.
It has IP56 rating for durability.

- "Years ago, TVs were reserved for your living room, either mounted on the wall or in an entertainment center. However, just as people are evolving what they watch and how they watch TV, they are also expanding where they watch. We’re seeing a greater demand for TVs that can be experienced from a variety of non-traditional places, such as while camping, on the ceiling, or even in the great outdoors. The Terrace makes it easy to enjoy your favorite shows, movies, and games – now, on an ultra-large screen – while outside in your backyard," said James Fishler, SVP of HE & Display Division, Samsung Electronics America.
The TVs come with access to apps via Samsung's Tizen platform and a solar-powered remote control. They support Apple AirPlay 2, too.
It is also very expensive, available now for pre-order in the US for $19,999.
