Online multiplayer and access to game catalogs on your console through PlayStation Plus is about to get significantly more expensive as Sony has announced a price increase.
PlayStation Plus was relaunched in 2022 with game catalogs, game streaming, game demos, and more new features on PlayStation 5. The price is now going up.
The price increase affects the annual price of all three PlayStation Plus plans: Essential, Extra, and Premium. Paying a full year in advance previously gave you a sizeable discount. The annual discount will still apply but to a lesser extent.
"This price adjustment will enable us to continue bringing high-quality games and value-added benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription service," said Adam Michel, Director of Content Acquisition & Operations, Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Price increase of up to 35%
The price will increase by up to 35%. Here are the new official prices, effective September 6, 2023, for new customers. Existing customers see their price hiked upon the first renewal after November 6, 2023.
